Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me. |

| The Garden Tomb Just as it might have been When Jesus walked this very path! I listened to the keeper of the Garden Tomb Retell those painful details Of Jesus’ crucifixion at Calvary; The dreadful scenes stir my emotions! With saddened eyes And a heavy heart I find myself standing Before the Garden Tomb Staring, wondering, feeling—the pains Of nearly two thousand years ago! A poignant moment, that it was! Tears flow like a waterfall; Soon, I, too, would enter the Tomb To see where they laid My precious Lord and Saviour! “Now in the place where He was crucified there was a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus…” (John 19:41-42) |

| The Golden Gate When first I set eyes Upon the beauty of Jerusalem Its white stone walls gleaming in the sun, And looked upon the walled city Of Old Jerusalem; Behold! The Golden Gate stood tall and majestic But sealed to block the re-entry Of our Lord and Saviour! Ah, but can man in his limited wisdom block The King of Kings, and Lord of Lords From re-entering HIS Holy City? I think not! “And I John, say the Holy City, new Jerusalem, Coming down from God out of Heaven, Prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” (Revelation 21:2) |

| WHAT KIND OF LOVE IS THIS What kind of love is this; That no matter our wrongs He loves us no matter what! What kind of love is this Yet gives us free will to make our own choice Whether to love and accept Him or not! What kind of love is this That He made us in His image, Then gave, so unselfishly, His precious, sinless life for ALL That we might be redeemed; Sin-debt PAID IN FULL! His love is that kind of love! Won’t you give your heart to Jesus? “O come let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our maker; for He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand…” (Psalm 95:6,7a) H. | "Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?" Jesus answered and said unto them, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent...and this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:28,29, 40) |
NO SUBSTANCE No matter how hard we try Or say we have the strength In self and self alone; We can be certain As night follows day That we will fail 'Cause arrogant confidence Has NO SUBSTANCE! Indeed, what we need Is complete surrender To confidence and trust In Christ alone; For He is our strength, Our life, our hope! "He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him." [Psalm 91:1] H. Lena Jones |
The Entrance The walls of the Entrance loomed Time not yet right for entry! So thoughts reflect, emotions mixed; This is where my Lord and Saviour With sadness, sweat, and blood Walked with slow, painful steps Towards the place where His accusers Stood waiting like a hungry prey! My emotions build to bursting point I fight the stingy tears! Soon I would see What was HIS Tomb! Finally the gates slowly peel open We’re welcomed by a priest! My heartbeat increased, for now I too Would Walk the selfsame path Of our precious Lord and Saviour! With each emotional step, I feel the past My emotions give way to tears Unashamedly, I let them fall… Soon, I would see What was His Tomb! “And He bearing His Cross went forth Into a place called the place of the skull, Which in called in the Hebrew Golgotha.” (John 19:17) |
